Lead With Confidence
March 19th, 2012
by Bill Boyajian

Do you look for the approval of others when you lead or make decisions?

Most people live their lives around the approval of people around them: friends, family, or peers. It’s natural to seek approval of the things you believe, say, or do. But don’t get caught in the trap of limiting your full potential by insuring that others agree with you.

When you lead your family, your work group, or fellow volunteers in an endeavor, don’t fail to be strong and confident in what you think will work for the best interest of your followers. You lead because you are a leader. Those around you expect leadership, so set the direction, harness resources, empower people, and build strong teamwork by asserting yourself in a bold and reassuring way.

I’m not suggesting that you lord it over people. Instead, I’m encouraging you not to shortchange your leadership by constantly seeking approval from others or succumbing to peer pressure when you know better. Life is too short to back off on what you believe.

Lead with confidence, and you’ll get all the approval you need from those who admire and follow your leadership role.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
