Motivation Works
March 29th, 2012
by Bill Boyajian

When I taught classes at GIA, I wanted my students to learn the subject but also to have fun. I never tried to teach as much as I tried to motivate. My goal was to inspire them to want to learn. Only then would they have a lifelong desire to grow their knowledge and commitment in the field.

Nothing helps a person’s attitude more than encouragement and motivation. Motivation is the ability to instill hope in others. Charismatic leaders do just that. They know that a word of encouragement from a respected colleague motivates. Leaders must be effective coaches. When people achieve remarkable results, let them know it. When they deserve praise, let them hear it. They will respond by working harder and performing even better.

Leaders direct the way. They provide the example and encouragement their people deserve. They know that motivation and encouragement will help their followers achieve remarkable results.

You have an obligation to recognize people’s accomplishments and to praise them for a job well done. In doing so, you will help them achieve goals they might not consider imaginable or even possible.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
