What People Want

People want us to care. And they want us to demonstrate it by what we do, not by what we say.

When we give people our undivided attention, they soak it up. In some respects, our time gets multiplied by giving it away.

Giving time to people shows we really care because we only have so much of it. When we give our time to people, we give them a portion of our life that we’ll never get back.

If you’re like me, you cherish your time. It’s all you’ve got in this life and it keeps passing away. So don’t just pass time. Use it to help, train, and encourage others. The benefit comes back to you in myriad ways.

Tick, tick, tick. Time is passing quickly, so give it away.

Here are a few Business & Life Tips to think about….

Business Tips:

  • If you are a leader, stop thinking in terms of your “direct reports” and start thinking of them as your “direct supports.”
  • One way to enslave a business (or a household) is to engulf it with debt. The way to unleash it is to make it debt-free.
  • Test the idea of a new business venture before you quit your job and launch full speed into it. This is your backstop, if needed.

Life Tips:

  • We take time for others, but we must also take time for ourselves. The value of solitude and renewal is one of life’s essentials.
  • An irony of life: we work hard to become comfortable, happy, and successful, but realize at some point that even this is not enough.
  • Worry causes stress unnecessarily. Control what you can, and forego worrying about what you can’t control. This liberates your mind.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
