10 Advantages of Email & Text
February 4th, 2019
by Bill Boyajian

I’m an email guy, not a phone person.  I know.  If you want to be more personal, you need to do it via phone or better yet, in person.  But you can’t always do that, so here are some reasons why I prefer email and text:

1) No phone tag.  It’s such a waste of time, let alone so trying on your patience.
2) There’s no such thing as email or text tag.  You send the message and move on to the next item on your daily agenda.
3) No intrusion.  Use it all hours of the day and on weekends.  People feel more inclined to have to return phone calls than emails, so you aren’t consciously bothering them with the written word.
4) Efficiency.  People are seldom as efficient with their (or your) time when they use the phone. As with face-to-face conversations, time is easily wasted on the phone with needless chit-chat.
5) A written record.  It’s always nice to be able to refer to exactly what you said and when you said it.
6) No interruptions.  You never have anyone talking over you.  I.e. No awkwardness.
7) There’s no “Can you hear me now?”  As much as technology has improved, it isn’t perfect, and you just don’t get a “dropped” email or text.
8) Time to compose your thoughts.  It isn’t necessary to be spontaneous as with the phone, which can work to your advantage to think things through.
9) No background noise.  You don’t get office or store chatter, gardner noise, dogs barking, or children bickering.
10) Multi-tasking flexibility.  I love to watch a ballgame or a golf match with my tablet in hand.

If you don’t agree with me, that’s okay.  But don’t call me.  Just email or text me!

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
