What Does Your “To Do” List Look Like Today?
September 19th, 2012
by Bill Boyajian

I’m a big To Do list person, but I wonder sometimes if the things I think I have to do are really the things that are most important to do.

If you’re like me, you like to get things done because it makes you feel good about accomplishing something worthwhile. It comes natural to many of us. But the things we put on our To Do list are often trivial fillers of time.

Instead of making a To Do list today (or even this week), think about the kind of things you’ve been putting off that are really important to do. Things like calling a friend who is in need of help or encouragement, counseling an employee about an issue that has been needling you, or taking a half day alone to contemplate an idea or opportunity that could be a game-changer for your life or business.

All too often we focus on unimportant time-wasters that fill holes in our day but don’t make a difference in the bigger picture. Instead, start thinking about the important things that can dramatically improve your life, your business, or perhaps even someone else’s life or business.

To Do lists are fine. I have one today, too. But I’m going to keep focusing on the kinds of things that are important to business and life. I encourage you to do the same.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
