You Have Options July 30th, 2019 by Bill Boyajian |
One of the things that worries people more than anything else is the feeling that there is only one way to do things. Leaders think that their leadership style is the best and only way to lead. Chefs think that their recipe is the best and only way to cook a great meal. Hair stylists think that their flair for contemporary cuts is the very best. They’re all wrong. There are an infinite number of ways to accomplish goals. It just takes some imagination and hard work to get there. When it comes to transitioning out of a business, owners feel their options are limited, but they really aren’t. There are many ways to formulate an exit strategy and many options to consider in the process. Options create relief when tension builds. It’s not a matter of intelligence in formulating options as much as it is a sincere desire to do so. Here’s the key question: What will make you happy? Once determined, there are usually many ways to get there. So the next time you think there is only on way to exit, realize you’re wrong and get some advice that will broaden your perspective and create options you never considered. Then relax. Options have a way of easing tension and stress, and this in turn helps you think through and plan with a rational approach to the unknown. “I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
