Who Is in Control?
July 10th, 2022
by Bill Boyajian

We made it through the worst of the pandemic, but now we have a war in Eastern Europe, inflation we haven’t seen in decades, supply chain shortages, runaway gas prices, and a declining stock market.  All of these maladies are outside of our control, so there is little, if anything, we can do about them.

This is a good reminder that we need only be concerned about the things we can control while we let the other things go.  It’s not that we shouldn’t stay informed about things we can’t control, but neither should we allow them to dominate our thinking or control our next steps in business and life.

Business continues to be brisk for many industries and companies.  People have money and they are constantly looking for ways to spend it.  Innovation has exploded, fueled in part, oddly, by the pandemic.  Many people are rethinking business opportunities and life expectations, while others are stagnant, not knowing what to do next.

Some people see opportunity in challenge and change, while others see problems.  We can only control what is in our power to control, but we all have more power than we realize.  We have free will, independent thinking, and a right to choose.  We can choose opportunity or despair.  What is your choice?

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
