A Simpler Life
September 26th, 2018
by Bill Boyajian

Even if you can afford some of life’s luxuries, there is something very satisfying about doing things yourself. It’s no great luxury to buy a car wash, but sometimes it’s rewarding to wash your own car. You can buy fresh squeezed orange juice in your local super market, but it’s special to pick oranges off your own tree and juice them in the morning. You can buy expensive produce in your specialty market, but there is joy in growing your own vegetables and making a salad with what you fresh-picked from your garden. There is even a different kind of joy that comes from sharing an abundant crop with your neighbors.

Even if you can afford a luxurious dinner out, there is something equally satisfying about a hot dog smothered with mustard and relish. It’s the same with a big slice of pepperoni pizza. You enjoy seats behind home plate at a ballgame, but it’s also nice to watch the game on your big screen from the comfort of your own home. It’s unique to walk the city wall of Dubrovnik, but also fun to binge watch Game of Thrones. It would be special to own a beautiful boat on the lake, but also nice to romp on the shore with your new puppy dog.

Sometimes we seek the nearly unattainable, but miss the simpler things in life with meaning. Take time today to rejoice in what you have. It’s a lot better than you think.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
