Business and Life Tips for November
November 8th, 2011
by Bill Boyajian

November is a good month to consider what you are thankful for. Family, friends, and freedom come to mind for me.  Ask yourself what you’re thankful for, and then live it out this month.

Here are a few business and life tips to think about:

Business Tips

  • People want to be heard; as long as you are open to hearing them, they can be a great source of information, advice, and strategy.
  • Too many struggling companies are over-managed and underled. If they can master the distinction they are able to focus on what can go right.
  • Remember, the more difficult the decision you make in business, the more careful the implementation plan must be to carry it out.
  • As a retailer, it is better to lose a sale because you won’t give a discount than to lose a sale because you don’t have the right stock.

Life Tips

  • Advice is a lot easier to give than to receive. It’s even harder to act upon, but we must. Evaluate the advice you get; then do something.
  • Regarding worry, ask yourself if worrying helps to solve the problem. It doesn’t. Only you do. So stop worrying and start doing.
  • Humility is vital for moving from success to significance. Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking more of others.
  • Where there is no vision, there is no hope. Vision motivates us to do great things. Ask yourself this simple question: do I have vision?

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
