Dog Genius

by Bill Boyajian

I write a lot about dogs because I learn so much from them.  My little guy, Bailey, is extremely observant and focused when he sees activities at home that he recognizes as similar to those in the past.  When he senses we are going out, he will settle himself in the window seat where he can see us when we come home.  When he notices the routine I take in preparing for his daily walk, he gets extremely excited and runs to the door with great anticipation.  There is a reason why dogs were domesticated so early by humankind, and also why so few other animals have lent themselves to domestication.

Dogs are a lot more observant than most people.  They sense our habits and emotions.  Bailey comes over to comfort me when I agonize over the results of a sporting event.  Why is it that a dog can show so much empathy, yet we humans struggle to put ourselves in others’ position and to come alongside just to show support for what is likely a very difficult situation?  There’s a reason they’re called “mankind’s best friend.”

Next time you see someone who needs support, don’t waste their time trying to give them advice.  Just come alongside them to show emotional support.  That’s what they need the most, and that’s what your dog would do.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
