Have You Reached Your Full Potential? December 29th, 2011 by Bill Boyajian |
To increase your influence on others and to get to the next level in your leadership abilities, you need to first understand your potential. One of the greatest lessons I learned from my parents was to be the best that I could be — in school, sports, or any endeavor. Not the best compared to others, but the best that I could be. I needed to stop comparing myself to others and start reaching my own full potential. And so do you, because nothing else really matters. People set their sights on acquiring a position, gaining status, or securing a title. They dream about landing a key role in a firm rather than assuming greater responsibility in their current role. You aren’t a leader by virtue of your position. You become a leader by virtue of your performance. Remember, a title doesn’t create a following, it just identifies position in a structure. You need to get better and better in your current job, gain the attention of management, and win the respect of your peers. Setting your sights on continuous improvement will help you achieve your best. The power of your potential is limited only by your willingness to “be all that you can be.” As we end 2011 and begin a new year, consider your full potential. Make it your goal to stretch yourself beyond comfortable limits. Commit to doing it, and then drop me an email and let me encourage you along the way. “I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
