Price and Value

How do you charge for your products or services?

Your prices are often a function of what you get used to and can make a profit on. The price seldom has anything to do with the actual value you provide. We tend to charge by the time it takes to do something instead of the value we provide in doing so.

We pay doctors and lawyers for their knowledge and expertise. All professionals should do the same. We also undermine our own business by discounting a product or service based on desperation. These are challenging times, but most of us aren’t that desperate.

Begin to think in terms of the value you provide. Be confident in what you deliver and speak to it in those terms. Don’t charge based on what you think your competition charges. You probably don’t know what they charge anyway.

We worry far too much about who or what we compete with and far too little what we can control. Worrying about losing a sale is the first sign of desperation. Instead, spend more time promoting the value and results you offer, or the services you provide. The rest will take care of itself.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
