Solutions for Feeling Down

There’s a lot going on in the world today that gets all of us a little down and out. Here are some solutions to get out of the doldrums:

Stay informed, but don’t obsess about watching every newscast. Most news in negative and depressing.
Socialize as you are able, and not just with technology. Getting out once a week or so for outdoor dining can make a huge difference in your mindset.
Double down on your hobbies. Golf and my garden help keep me sane.
Attack the stack of books that has been building on your reading list. When have you ever had the time you have now?
Reach out to friends or relatives you haven’t seen in a while. It’s amazing what a call or text or email or letter can do for both of you.
Find someone or something that needs help, and do your part. You’ll feel great about it, as will the recipient.
Be grateful for what you have, and what you don’t have. Some people may be better off than you, but there are many others who aren’t.
Take some time to find your own inner peace. It’s the one thing that no one can take from you.
