When we went to school, we were supposed to focus on the three Rs: Reading, wRiting, and aRithmatic.  But as adults, we know the tremendous value of READING.  One of my favorite writers, Austin Kleon, has a formula for reading more, and I want to share it with you.

1) Throw your smart phone in an ocean or lake, or at least put it on airplane mode…..
2) Carry a book with you at all times.
3) Have another book lined up and ready to read when you’re finished with the book you’re reading.
4) If you start a book and aren’t enjoying it, stop reading it immediately and start a new one.  Don’t feel bad because not every book has your name on it.
5) Schedule one hour a day on your calendar for reading, like you would an appointment or an important meeting.
6) Carry a reading log with you and share it with others.  People will send you even more good books to read.

My biggest tip is to read for enjoyment and to read to expand your mind beyond its normal bounds.  Reading should be fun.  If it isn’t, you may need glasses or some better books to read.
Here are a few Business & Life Tips to think about….

Business Tips:

  • Schedule time to get away every few months to think and to plan. You’ll be surprised how easy (and beneficial) this can be.
  • People who lead well inspire us to follow. Such leaders share why they believe what they believe, and people follow because of it.
  • If you want more hours in the day, begin a daily log to see where your time goes. You’ll be surprised, maybe startled. Try it.

Life Tips:

  • Most of us spend too much time in front of a computer screen. Go walk the dog, plant a rose bush, read a book, or ride a bike.
  • Time is your most precious asset in life. Use it to explore new horizons, discover your passion, and share great moments with friends.
  • It’s nice to have a safe haven, a place to go to clear your head. A settled mind with a motivated spirit is a formula for success.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
