Mentorship Mentoring is the intentional act of taking a serious, personal interest in another person. A mentor is an experienced, trusted counselor and guide. Think “life coach.” From Rick Warren’s Daily Hope, “The word ‘mentor’ comes from Homer’s poem, The Odyssey. When the king goes off to fight the Trojan War, he leaves the kingdom in the hands of a trusted counselor named Mentor. Mentor actually teaches and raises the king’s son”. Indeed, centuries ago, most education was done by mentors. Schools are a more modern phenomenon. Apprenticeships by master craftsmen were the norm. And such training was most often one-on-one. Today, mentoring has again become more common. And that is a step in the right direction in my view. Mentors are used in many areas today, especially in business, leadership, and management. No matter how successful you are, you need a mentor to help you become even more successful because you need someone speaking into your business and your life. If you have the age and experience that can benefit someone, consider becoming a mentor. If you agree that everyone needs a mentor, consider asking someone to mentor you. Mentorship is a great gift to give and to receive in return. Try it, both ways. Do you believe that the only constant is change? In a high-speed world, leaders need to be willing to change, and change quickly. You need to identify the need to change, own the change, and then make the change. You must also have the courage to see it through…. [click to read more] Here are a few Business & Life Tips to think about….. Business Tips: • If you want to develop something new, exciting, and lucrative, bring forth a disruptive technology that creates significant change. • The best customers are already satisfied customers. Don’t ignore them. Cultivate them. Jewelry isn’t satiating. It’s addicting.. • We all need to plan. But execution enables plans to succeed. Planning without execution is like an idea without action. It goes nowhere. Life Tips: • Take your dream, from a vision, and make it reality. Focus on the end result, and pursue your goal with passion and purpose. • There is no better use of your time than to spend it with your family and friends. Work can wait. It will always be there. • Learn to give back to something you believe in. It could be social, civic, humanitarian, religious, whatever. Just give back. “I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
