What I’ve Learned from Millennials
October 4th, 2018
by Bill Boyajian

I write a lot about Millennials because they’re such an important part of our workforce, our consumer base, and our lives in general.  Much of what we hear or read about Millennials stereo-types them in less than attractive ways.  So I sat down to reflect on several things that I’ve learned from Millennials over the years.

Here they are:

• Instead of knowing that I should live a more balanced life, Millennials have made me more conscious of enacting daily principles that actually help me live a more balanced life.
• Instead of taking our planet for granted, Millennials have made me more conscious of things I can do to preserve and protect the world around us.
• Instead of viewing myself as creatively challenged, Millennials have shown me that we all have a creative spirit but that our creativity is revealed in different forms and actions.
• Instead of trying to be all things to all people, Millennials have shown me that being really good in one area or another – at one time or another – is simply okay.
• Instead of treating every business or company more or less the same, Millennials have taught me to value those who are socially responsible and give back to their communities as better firms to buy from and invest in.
• Instead of being in a hurry to do, do, do more and more and more, Millennials have shown me that taking more time to reflect and experience may in fact be a better way to live.

What have you learned from Millennials?

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
