What Matters
April 16th, 2013

When it comes to marketing and sales, what really matters is what the customer thinks. Their actions, reactions, opinions, even (or especially) buying decisions are a function of a client’s perceptions – about you, your product, your service, your company, or even your industry. It may not seem reasonable, or even fair, but perception is reality in the mind of the consumer. And that is why it is so critical to build an image of what you want people to think.

Consider this. We tend to hang with people like us, buy things that seem to reflect us, and make all sorts of decisions that are indicative of the way we perceive ourselves and how we want others to perceive us. The latter may well be a stronger motivation than anything else.

If you translate all this to a jewelry purchase, you can see how fragile and emotional a buying decision just might be. Consumers “vote” with their pocketbooks based on their cumulative perceptions. The more we understand this, the better chance we have to match what we offer to consumer demand.

“I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
