Where Have All the People Gone? July 5th, 2023 by Bill Boyajian |
Unemployment is at record lows while the economy struggles with supply chain shortages, much higher prices, and inflation not seen in decades. Many ask the question, “Where have all the people gone?” One would think that with the possibility of an impending recession, people would be looking for jobs. But businesses are in dire need of more people willing to take unheard-of compensation packages to get into traditional jobs in the marketplace. Some say that over a million people are “long-haulers” with COVID and have simply left the workforce. Most Baby-boomers are also at retirement age and absent from the workplace. That leaves Gen-Xers, Millennials, and Gen-Zers, who want more from a job than simply a paycheck. Can they all be working at home remotely or online somewhere? This is a very challenging work environment on many levels and businesses need to take time to think about current and future planning. It’s not just “where have all the people gone.” It’s also “where am I going with my business and what is its future going to be.” If you need help thinking this through, drop me a line or give me a call. “I needed help orchestrating a succession plan for our business. I had heard that Bill Boyajian specialized in assisting owners to transition their business to the next generation. He knows how to bridge the generation gap and deliver what each needs to hear. I would recommend Bill to any business owner who needs advice on succession planning from a trusted outside professional.”

"Our family needed some guidance on business transition and succession planning. We asked Bill Boyajian to help us because we knew we could trust him to tell us what we needed to hear. Bill became a valuable resource for our company and our entire family. He has the ability to meet each of us where we’re at and it has served us very well."

“We needed a plan to transition our business to a non-family member and we asked Bill Boyajian to help us. His experience in the area has really paid off, but we didn’t expect the added value of putting us together with a financial planner who helped organize our retirement needs. We now have the fundamentals to transition our business successfully, and we have Bill to thank for it.”
